Smartable is a project I worked on for the student-led design studio at Northeastern called Scout. We worked with a Northeastern Venture called Smartable to design the experience of their application. Smartable is a career guidance software that aims to give students, especially those in areas that have less access to valuable career guidance, a way to figure out what they might be good at and take steps to move towards that career.
This was another project where I worked alongside a team of designers and I took ownership of the "SmartCV," a shareable resume that will update automatically as a user accomplishes different missions or takes more assessments on the site. I also designed the badge system, though not the icons. Users receive badges based off of certain missions they accomplish, many of which are through partner sites such as Lynda or Skillshare.
This was an incredibly collaborative design process, and it was challenging because we were all students and could not be physically together as often as we may have liked to be when working on this project. We came together to determine the navigational structure of the application and a general for wireframing, but we were also all working on redefining the visual language of the application, and it was interesting to see how all of our styles came together in the end.
